Lady Pheasant

In contrast the female is brown in colour keeping her well camouflaged when sitting on her nest. Lady Amherst Pheasants Chrysolophus amherstiae are named for Lady Sarah Amherst who first introduced these ornamental pheasants in England. The closely-related Golden and Lady Amherst pheasants have been allowed to interbreed in captivity. Then the underparts are usually paler than the upper parts.
